Help I Have Smokecovidclaustraphobia!
I had a little freak out on Friday when the air quality limited even being outside. So I pulled a geographic and ran away to the beach. There I could fool myself that the smoke was fog. What really broke the freak out was grounding.
I put my bare feet in the sand and really felt it. I realized the smoke had limited my other senses creating the sense of panic. Remember how we were taught to stop, drop and roll with fire? Stop running, drop your feet onto the earth, roll them around in the grass, dirt or whatever. It feels good and it works.
Grounding is useful for panic and with all healthcare experiences. For example; relaxing your arm before receiving the flu shot allows the vaccine to distribute, reducing site soreness. Integrated medicine goes even farther describing earthing, exposing yourself to the earths electrical fields. I know that I couldn’t exercise, see the vista but i could feel the ground.
There are lots of ways to reduce pain and stress from medical procedures.
