My Covid 19 test was negative!

This has been a little ride tightening up my quarantine. Seattle epidemiologists are cautiously optimistic confirmed cases are decreasing. We seem to have had a peak in mid July with 39% of confirmed cases between 20-39%. There were 38,679 new cases and 572 deaths in the US yesterday.

There is news from Hong Kong of a documented second infection (reinfection). The strain he was infected with 3 months after his first infection was different than his original infection. He was asymptomatic with the second infection. Two import conclusions can be drawn from this. Because he didn’t have symptoms with this reinfection, it is assumed his immunity from the first infection is helping him. Secondly, the virus is mutating.

Patients are sick and testing negative for Covid-19. I don’t think we should assume these folks don’t have the virus. It’s ok to hang out for 14 days, there really isn’t anything out there worth infecting others for.
